Reading about Wabbits

"Benjamin sat down beside his cousin, and assured him that Mr McGregor had gone out in a gig, and Mrs McGregor also; and certainly for the day, because she was wearing her best bonnet.
Peter said he hoped it would rain."

- The Tale of Benjamin Bunny, by Beatrix Potter

Which reminds me of the vulture who boarded an airplane carrying two dead rabbits. The stewardess looks at him and said, “I’m sorry, sir, but there’s only one carrion allowed per passenger . . .”

I love Benjamin Bunny, especially the part where old Mr. Benjamin Bunny prances upon the top of the wall with a switch in his hand, and the simple, ominous line, "He was looking for his son."

... and a hush falls on the young readers, as they eye old Mr. Benjamin bunny -and his efficient looking switch- with concern. :-)

L.Johnston was reading to the kids Sunday afternoon. I think this should be part of the material she covers.
