In Bloom

I took this picture of our catalpa tree this afternoon.

I'm listening: Bob Dylan as I drive down country roads with all the windows down.

The windows down because you're afraid you'll get locked in?

What a beautiful tree.. and a great view of it, also!!

A couple of my siblings once played a cruel joke on me related to getting locked into things, and I wasn't the one "locked in" either. They got in the car with the windows rolled down and the doors locked and started screaming, "Sarah! Help us we're suffocating." I'm such a trusting and gullible sould (or I was at the time) that I believed them and promptly panicked. Oh, the memories.

My aren't you lucky! I told you a random story!

The tree's gorgeous. It looks vaguely like a tree we have...on second thought, never mind; the greatest similarity is that the flowers are white and the leaves green.

In case you are wondering, yes, Han was one of the wicked siblings in above story.

The tree is really pretty.

Mom left one day while we were out on our paper routes when I was eleven and locked the doors. We had to climb through a window when we got back.

Mybelovedismine- actually, I took the picture before locking everyone out, but upon reflection I think that would be a nice past time if I get locked out again. :-)

JFC- Yes, definitely! :-)

Thanks, Loz and Deborah.
Oh, my, Deborah! That does sound... exciting. :-o

Thanks, Sistertomany!

Sarie- thank you for the random story. Most interesting! :-) But do you really mean that they had the windows rolled DOWN and you still thought they were suffocating? On a side note, did you know that the word "gullible" is not in the newest dictionaries? ;-)

Thanks Daisy! Wow, another locked out story! :-)

I was much younger then, Natalie. It didn't occur to me to think of it.

As for gullible, Jedediah tried that on us with no success; Han was more inclined to believe he was in earnest about the pope being Baptist; she tried to explain to him that the pope wasn't Baptist, he was Ratzinger, not just Ratzinger, but Catholic. Or something like that.

Beautiful Picture. It just quietly reflects God's majesty. I love it. Now the snake????!!?? I have a few questions to ask God about the things he created. Of course, I will be standing in awe of Him so I am sure I will forget those questions.

LOL, Sarie. :-)

Fish sticks, Mybelovedismine? Who would eat something like that? ;-)

Thanks, Mrs. Fuller! :-) But how can you not like the cute little snake? ;-)

I'm working on: making a cheesecake with strawberries, lemon jello, and whipped cream on top

I was wondering who had brought that. I must say your labor was very fruitful, and I would imagine that a number of people are hoping we will be blessed by you repeating in the future!!!

And while lemon jello is on my mind ... did I ever tell you about a child I knew of in Louisville KY? His mother named him L'Mongelo, because the first thing she saw when they came to ask her to fill out the papers naming the child was the desert from her hospital meal.

Another kid in the same housing complex was named Dwon, because his mother didn't know the spelling of the name of the University of Louisville basketball star, DeJuan (Wheat).

Hazel eyed people often pretend to have green eyes. It is our dream.

Okay, maybe it's just my dream. =)

Beloved--- (hah, I feel like Paul when I'm writing that... maybe I should call you something else) "Gnatty" is obviously just taking dominion like the rest of us enlightened ones! (Me, JFC.. uh... his blog may refer to it, but I haven't seen Luke doing it yet. I think Diah made up some words by mistake, though. Does taking dominion by mistake count?)

Nota bene: Lest anyone be confused and concerned; I don't actually believe taking dominion consists solely of making up words.

And as to honestly hating canned spinach, has she ever deceived anyone into believing she doesn't? Hmmm... that's a question for the ages right there.

The story goes, as I have heard it, that it was so important to her that people know that she DID like it, that she pleaded with her pastor in Phoenix to announce it to the whole congregation ... which he dutifully did.

(or something like that)

Really? Nuh uh! No how! Go way back and sit down!

Thanks, JFC. No comment on those truly tragic names.

Mybelovedismine- Yes, HONESTLY. And I am a Gnatty. :-) And my eyes are too green!

Sarie- but I DO have green eyes! (...at least when I wear the right colors...)

JFC- that is not EXACTLY what happened. While not the exact opposite... it is pretty close. :-)

Han- thank you for your incredulity and moral support.

Without things that are bad or even not as majestic, there would not be anything to make the majestic things majestic.
And sorry, I am probably too traditional to create very many words

Would you create more words if we made word making traditional? =o)
