...oh wait, I am. Never mind.
Wednesday- helped friends butcher chickens. A good time was had by all.
Thursday- picked up my beehive. I am now a (slightly overwhelmed) beekeeper. The bees appear to have settled in well and be happy.
Friday- I'm in the middle of baking for the Farmer's Market tomorrow.
So zat is all for now.

You had fun butchering chickens? That's fascinating.
Good luck with the beehive and bees and such.
"why I'm not blogging"
This reminds me of a Governor Vilsack who began a speech with "The reason I am not here tonight is..." or something to that effect.
-- and WOULD you BE writing a mystery dinner? :) yet??
Did you mean ...
WOULD you BEE writing a mystery dinner ...

I didn't have a good time.
I could not get off work, and I lamented the whole day as I considered what y'all were doing that I could not be part of.
:(
I didn't know chicken butchering was so popular... maybe I should try that for my birthday next year, except I'd have better luck getting pigs butchered around here, but that probably wouldn't have the same festive air. Do you sing chicken butchering songs as you lop their little heads off? I'm seeing the makings of a new hymnal here...
How do you know if bees are happy?
Do you sing chicken butchering songs
Actually, we tend to sing Psalms and hymns from Cantus Christi ... in four-part harmony. It is glorious beyond compare ... especially when the people are there who remember all the verses from memory to keep us going.
Sarie- I had lots of fun doing what I was doing, which was doing the final inspection on the chickens right before they went in the ice water before being bagged. So I wasn't decapitating or eviscerating chickens, and yes, I had lots of fun chatting with Junior and Beloved and others and singing as well. :-) You should join us some time. *grin*
Beloved- I worked on it today. :-)
JFC- Oooooh. Oooooooh. Eeeeeeevil pun. *Makes faces.*
I'm sorry you couldn't bee there to help us remember the words. We had a little trouble on a few songs.
Han- I think that you have the makings of a wonderful social event there! :-o
I don't know for certain whether they're actually happy, since they haven't been talking to me or returning my emails, but I assume they're happy since they're bringing in pollen and haven't swarmed and left me. :-)

Alas, I fear that I would have been of little help. If it were songs from the Baptist Hymnal (1956, 1975, 1991), I might have been of assistance. But Cantus Christi is not embedded in my memory yet. I spend too much time reading (words and music) and too little memorizing.
However, last November, between you, and the Davises, and the Cooks, and the Bechards, I think we had a pretty good handle on most of the Psalms we attempted.
I'm listening: "Na-too-wee! Moe" tape
Is that an eight-track? Or a cassette?
:D
