Psalm 117:1-2

O Praise the LORD, all ye nations:
praise him, all ye people.
For his merciful kindness is great toward us:
and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever.
Praise ye the LORD.

Do you mean to say that even in the Old Testament, God's purposes were not only for the Israelites, but also for "all nations", "all peoples" (NKJV), and that all nations and all peoples ought to praise God because he is good to his people ("us").

What a novel concept ... although David did fight Goliath, as he said, so "that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel." (1 Samuel 17:46).

For that, we ought, indeed, to "Praise ye the LORD" !!!
