It was a fairly impromptu treasure hunt, so the treasure they were seeking turned out to be an old "gold" necklace, which, according to the clue, was within five feet of the clue's position. They circled carefully five feet away, and didn't find the necklace, under some leaves right under where the clue had been, for quite a while. Then onward to another treasure...cookies! :-)
