Pairing Socks and Making Chocolate Snowflakes

At my house, there is a "sock monster" that sneaks out from under the bed in the middle of the night, and ransacks the sock drawer, stealing half of the socks, so that it is very very difficult to make pairs. We have tried on numerous occasions to determine exactly how it accomplishes this vandalism, but so far, the secret has eluded us.

I am glad to hear that you have, at least to some extent, succeeded in thwarting his nefarious operation in your neck of the woods. I wish you continuing luck in doing so.

AND ...

Those chocolate snowflakes appear to be exquisite and delicious.

My friend's mother says that socks are the larval form of coat hangers. That is why the socks disappear from the bottom of the closet and more and more hangers appear in the back. :-)

Thank you, they're fun to make. They're going to go on a cake. :-)

Thanks, Mosey. I'm not at home right now, but I'll do the quiz when I get back.
Lauren- it's going well. The ball is tomorrow and there is a practice tonight, which will be fun. Right now we're baking a cake. :-)
Jessi- We melted chocolate chips, and put waxed paper over a sketch of the snowflake. Then we drizzled the chocolate over the pattern, drawing the lines. We used a frosting tip and bag to do that. After the chocolate had cooled and hardened, we gently slid it off with a metal spatula. :-)
Deborah- Absolutely! The Great Sock Monster. :-) How funny that you actually found a culprit! Usually it is just one of those I wonder where my socks all went... ;-)

I believe that the drier is actually the cause of all the missing socks. You know all that lint you pull out of the filter every time you do laundry?? That's it. It especially likes nice, dress socks.

lol, I wondered where Daddy's work socks all whent to, now I can tell him the dryer is eating them. he will be very... um... something. or something else. or not. I don't know yet.... I don't even know what the something is! lol
