This morning- Micah sheared sheep at the Fiber Fair. The rain held off, thankfully, and it wasn't too hot. I pushed Nathan in the stroller and wore Miriam in the ring sling. That worked well and Nathan loved looking at the alpacas, llamas, sheep, goats, and rabbits. I was amazed by the woman spinning wool from the rabbit on her lap! I don't think I would be that brave...

Can you describe that? You mean a living rabbit and she was just spinning the wool right off it?
=8^o
Yes. :-) It looked like she was pinching at the hair- and she had a spinning wheel in front of her. The rabbit was totally calm, I don't think it felt any discomfort. I didn't see her begin... not sure how that worked. But once she was going it seemed to be really smooth. I wish I had taken a picture... It would've been a great shot and probably would've explained itself much clearer than I've been able to!
How interesting -- I wonder if rabbits use the fur to line their nests, so it would similar to getting down from a live goose.
Oh, wasn't that rabbit nest that we found where we were playing volley-ball lined with the mother's fur?
I didn't see it... I believe that I have heard that rabbits line their nests, though. :-)
